The building was stripped back and given a full modern refurbishment, including new high performance windows and a chilled beam cooling system.

West Sussex County Council commissioned DLS: ARCH for this refurbishment project. The building suffered from overheating in the summer and being too cold in the winter, it was considered an unattractive environment to work in by staff.

The increased thermal performance of the building and the raised access floor has dramatically improved both the temperature control and the aesthetics of the building
